After months of suggesting, cajoling, and outright demanding, Governor Murphy has finally heard me and my colleagues in the NJ Assembly and Senate, and finally announced this morning that restaurants may open to 25% capacity indoors this Friday, September 4th.
Indoor dining has been prohibited since mid-March, and the economic impact on restaurant owners and employees has been nothing short of catastrophic. When restaurants were supposed to re-open in July, Gov. Murphy made a last-minute reversal – even though most restaurants had already placed orders for food, scheduled employees back to work, and were ready to go.
I am happy to finally be able to let my constituents know that we have finally been heard.
PLEASE patronize your local restaurants both at their locations and for takeout.
I believe we have all been waiting for this day for a long time! Bon appetit!
